Outer (solid line) and inner (dotted line) Danube Delta Conservation Zones.  The single inner zone has since been replaced by three small zones which follow Romanian � and European and World � precedent by avoiding encroachment on traffic arteries.  The reason for whiting out areas along the east coast of the delta, along with the legend, is unknown, but can be guessed.  Originally at Naturfreunde (Friends of Nature) International, 31-Aug-2004, at  www.nfi.at/deutsch/pdf/donaudelta.pdf
