As I am always on the lookout for feedback which might assist me in upgrading the fairness and accuracy of the Ukrainian Archive web site at www.ukar.org, I was delighted at the anticipation of receiving a critique from your Canadian Jewish Congress, and not only of my web site, but the bonus of receiving a critique of myself to boot:

"We're examining both the web site and its author, because as far as we can determine upon first reading, it appears to be little more than an anti-Semitic initiative using, this time, the lever of kosher food labeling.  If he was genuinely interesting to know about kosher labeling issues, he could have contacted us instead of putting insulting letters to our president [Moshe Ronen] on his web site."

Since the CJC investigation of both my web site and myself seems to have been underway from at least 26-May-2000, I am both surprised and disappointed that I have not had the benefit of any CJC critique even to this day, and am writing now � on the possibility that your investigation has stalled � to urge you to resume it and carry it to completion.

Your long silence has two (from your point of view, undesirable) effects � it encourages me to believe that you have been unable to find much in my writing to critique, and it leaves the many people whose reputations my writing devalues (year after year in some cases) in a feeble position to claim that I had means of knowing that my UKAR indictments of them were flawed � as for example the reputations of the WHARRRF Group of Seven:

  5. Steven Rambam
  6. Moshe Ronen

By the way � as I had sent my questions concerning kosher certification to the president of the CJC, Moshe Ronen, I cannot understand what Jack Silverstone could have meant when he said about me above that "he could have contacted us instead."  I thought that contacting you � that is, the CJC � was exactly what I was doing when I wrote to your president, Moshe Ronen.  Can you make any sense out of Jack Silverstone's statement?  And is there any possibility that those two-year-old questions of mine concerning kosher certification are finally going to get answered?
