- In a 20 minute video (in Ukrainian), Petro Poroshenko proclaimed 22 January the 100th anniversary of Ukraine’s struggle for independence.
- A "Wiretap Affidavit" dated 31Mar1995 for Vyacheslav Kirillovich Ivankov indicates that the FBI and RCMP have been monitoring Russian Organized Crime since the mid 1990's.
- Due to the recent attack on the credibility of the FBI via the Grassley/Graham Letters and the Nunes Memo, Will Zuzak concludes:
There is a danger that the United States under Donald Trump will be transformed into a Mafia state very similar to that of the Russian Federation under Vladimir Putin.

- Nolan Peterson (my favourite foreign reporter in Ukraine) is warning us of the excessive monetary influence of China in Ukraine.
- The article by Janusz Bugajski reinforces my contention that the Russian nation state came into existence as part of the Russian Federation following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 -- having previously morphed from Muscovy into the Tsarist Russian Empire and then into the Communist Russian Empire.

- The pdf files on Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS and Bill Browder’s life story indicate that, although Mr. Browder is responsible for the passage of the very laudable Magnitsky Act, he had earlier engaged in tax evasion with his Heritage Capital hedge fund.
- [It is bitterly ironic, that so many of the activists who are now denouncing off-shore tax havens, corruption, money laundering, infiltration of organized crime into our political and financial institutions, etc., were previously engaged in promoting these very practices!]

- Fire and Fury by Wolff is mostly titillating gossip and not directly relevant to Ukraine except for Manafort and the Russophile Henry Kissenger, who has infiltrated the Trump camp so as to promote his own geopolitical policies.
- Senator Cardin’s report on Russian Organized Crime in North America has already had several positive and negative reviews by “experts”.
- Franklin Foer traces the life story of Paul Manafort with special emphasis of his involvement in Ukraine and with Donald Trump.
