Polish-Ukrainian Civil War during 1940s

[W.Z. The eight Ukrainian-language and one English-language links below discuss the Polish-Ukrainian fratricidal relations on Ukrainian ethnographic territory during World War II. The Poles wanted Western Ukraine to remain a part of the Polish state; whereas the Ukrainians wanted the territory to be part of an independent Ukraine. The controversy exploded in June-July 2013 as the Polish Senate and Sejm passed resolutions condemning the ethnic cleansing of Poles from Volyn in 1943. The controversy was exacerbated when 148 Deputies of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada (from the Party of Regions, the Communist Party and several independents) signed a resolution urging the Poles to designate these massacres as genocide -- prompting former President Leonid Kravchuk to accuse them of treason.]
