ODESA MAYOR ELECTION RESULTS INVALIDATED
ODESA. On May 6, a court in the Kirovohrad Oblast invalidated the
results of mayoral elections in Odesa and anulled the decision by the
Odesa election commission confirming Eduard Hurvits's election as the
city mayor, Odesa oblast administration press service head told
InfoBank. Hurvits is the incumbent mayor.
Charges against Hurvitz's election were brought by his main contender,
the present Odesa oblast governor Ruslan Bodelan. He accused Hurvits
supporters of numerous violations of the election procedure. The
Kirovohrad court decision says the verdict is final and cannot be
contested in a higher court.
