- Igor Gorkiy states:
"Russians today are the same Soviet people, entrenched within a new political paradigm. The current nation is the product of communist “selection” when only the conform-receptive part of the population was allowed to survive. This process has lasted for many years, and during this period, a huge amount of the non-conforming population has either been destroyed, deported, or fled the country. The remaining Russians have been cultivated by a centralized media and a lack of alternative choices of political behavior. The values of the dictatorship have become exalted, while neurotic fears have been created regarding the functional values of democracy, human rights, and freedoms."
- Timothy Snyder and the Economist write very positive reviews of Serhii Plokhy's new book "The Gates of Europe: A history of Ukraine".
- Von Ropcke conducted numerous interviews with inhabitants of the Donbas to ascertain how the "DNR" and "LNR" are financed. He concludes:
"It can be seen that Putin's Russia is not in the least interested in implementing the signed Minsk Agreement from September 2014. The agreement intends for the medium-term reintegration of the corresponding regions under Ukrainian control. Instead, Russia's policy can rather be considered as the long-term stabilization of the internationally unacknowledged construct of the "People's Republics" of Donetsk and Luhansk and the stabilization of their status quo."

- Pavel Baev surveys Russian-language sources to conclude that the recent flurry of diplomatic activity by Vladislav Surkov and Boris Gryzlov is an attempt by the Kremlin to stabilize the situation in the Donbas so as to encourage the European Union to lift sanctions against Russia.

- Justice Robert Owen clearly implicates Vladimir Putin and the Russian FSB in the radioactive Polonium 210 poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko in London on 01Nov2006 and his subsequent agonizing death on 23Nov2006.

- Petro Kraliuk points out that, although surveys indicate that most of the Orthodox faithful in Ukraine support an independent church under the direction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Kyiv Patriarchate, whenever a parish wishes to join the UOC-KP, the pro-Moscow heirachy of the UOC-MP sends in "canonical titushky" from outside the community to agitate against such a transfer. He provides examples from the Rivne area of Ukraine.

Ukraine as a bulwark of European defense  Kyiv Post, 20Jan2016; Oksana Bashuk Hepburn

- Ms. Bashuk Hepburn points out that over the centuries Ukraine has been a bulwark for the rest of Europe against the marauding "Mongol Asiatic Hordes" and continues so today against Putin's maraudung Russian regime. She warns the West not to submit Russia's "peace" propaganda and to aid Ukraine to build up its military defense capabilities.
