- Before the shoot-down of Malaysian MH17 on 17Jul2014, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier had been repeatedly demanding that Ukraine negotiate with the Russian terrorists. Before WWII, the Ukrainian Independence Movement tried to convince the Germans to support a free, democratic, independent Ukraine. Instead, the quotes of Hitler and Himmler clearly indicate that the Germans decided to colonize Ukraine at the expense of the indigenous population -- i.e.  pure unadulterated genocide. The Germans have acknowledged and accepted responsibility for the Holocaust, but they have never acknowledged and accepted responsibility for their genocide of Ukrainians during WWII.
