Apologies for this abbreviated Report. The realities of life and technology have prevented me from archiving many relevant materials that appeared on the Internet this month.

was removed on 2010.02.25, which is the day that Viktor Yanukovych was inaugurated as President.

In what appears to be a co-ordinated effort, Ukrainophobes around the world have launched a full scale attack against Ukraine and Ukrainians. Ukrainian-speakers have been fired. The Holodomor website in Ukraine is defunct. The European Parliament wants Yanukovych to rescind the Hero award to Stepan Bandera. The fifth column lurking within the Ukrainian academic community undermines the legitimacy of Ukraine’s independence by attacking OUN-UPA in the news media. Via the John Demjanjuk trial in Munich, Ukrainians are painted as worse than Nazis.

Two contributions to our understanding of John Demjanjuk:

(1)   BLURB BIOGRAPHY OF JOHN DEMJANJUK, SO FAR

Although John Demjanjuk was acquitted of crimes committed by Ivan the Terrible of Treblinka, immense damage continues to be done to the image of Ukrainians by the continuing circulation of the variation of the story that it was another Ukrainian Ivan, Ivan Marchenko, who was the real Ivan the Terrible of Treblinka.   BLURB BIOGRAPHY, however, demonstrates that Ivan the Terrible of Treblinka was a post-1977 fabrication created to dramatize the persecution of John Demjanjuk.  No Ivan the Terrible was ever mentioned in authoritative early accounts of Treblinka, and the story of Ivan the Terrible has never been repeated in prominent histories of WWII or of the Holocaust.  Leading prosecutor of Nazi war criminals, Ben Ferencz, refuses to rely on witness testimony in his cases, cautioning that it is easy to get thousands of witnesses to testify that they have seen their mothers and fathers murdered by whatever defendant is placed before them.

(2)   FORGE AND ERASE: THINGS YOU WON'T FIND IN WIKIPEDIA ABOUT THE TRAWNIKI ID CARD'S DEMJANJUK SIGNATURE

During John Demjanjuk's Jerusalem trials, the sole documentary evidence placing him in German uniform was the Trawniki ID Card, and this card continues today in Munich to be the chief document pointing in the same direction .  However, the Trawniki ID Card has several fatal defects, the leading among which is that the "Demjanjuk" signature on the card can be demonstrated to have been written by somebody other than John Demjanjuk.  More damaging still, evidence is presented demonstrating that John Demjanjuk's persecutors have been deliberately erasing the signature to the point that today it is pretty much illegible, and old photographs of the card have to be consulted to see what it once was.
