The why of Russell Williams
Re the Editorial: “Hand the Colonel the maximum,” Oct. 18, 2010.
Col. Williams has confessed to many, if not all, of his wide-ranging
crimes. The question that remains is why he felt so moved to commit
them. Will we ever learn the reason for his criminal and homicidal
behaviour? Will we ever source his fiendish compulsion to, above all,
terrorize women and inflict harm on them -- and why he allowed this to
trump everything fine and good he built up in his military career?
