Columnist out to lunch
Re: “Duty to keep quiet,” Peter Worthington, Aug. 9. The BP oil gusher
in the Gulf spewing toxic oil and gases for more than 100 days and
delivering the equivalent an Exxon Valdez every five days has magically
-- if you swallow the Kool-Aid Peter Worthington is peddling -- been
nearly all dissolved by Mother Nature. Why, even the “shrimp seem to
have survived the oil-leak holocaust.” Sure! Everyone knows how
resilient shrimp are to COREXIT, a highly toxic dispersant BP deployed
in millions of gallons into the Gulf waters. Peter could have his
grandkids over for lunch, and confidently grill them some Gulf shrimp.

(The idea that oil has
simply disappeared seems dubious.)

(Nowhere to go but up) Shrimp grump
RE “Duty to keep quiet,” Peter Worthington, (Aug. 9, 2010):
The BP oil gusher in the Gulf spewing toxic oil and gases for 100 days
and delivering the equivalent of an Exxon Valdez every five days has
magically -- if you swallow the Kool-Aid Peter Worthington is peddling
—- been nearly all dissolved by Mother Nature. Why, even the “shrimp
seem to have survived the oil-leak holocaust.”
Sure! Everyone knows how resilient shrimp are to Corexit, a highly
toxic dispersant BP rained down in millions of gallons from overflying
aircraft over the Gulf waters.
Peter could have his grandkids over for lunch, and confidently grill them some Gulf shrimp.
