What a fitful start Michael Ignatieff’s cross-Canada tour has made,
with the tour bus breaking down 100 kilometres outside Ottawa. With
travel plans on hold, the Liberal leader dismissed the symbolism of
this unexpected delay: “Sometimes a bump in the road is just a bump in
the road. It’s not a metaphor for anything.”
Try telling that to Joe Clark, after his leadership image got skewed by
tales of airline luggage lost in transit.
