Re: “U.S. Gulf Coast residents brace for more oil,” Edmonton Sun, June 21,2010.

Barack Obama’s White House criticized BP CEO Tony Hayward for taking time off from dealing with the ongoing oil spill in the Gulf to attend a weekend yacht race. Had this been Bush 43’s White House would anyone have noticed, cared, or let alone commented? In the 2,535 or so days he served as president, most of them in war-time, George Bush spent all or part of 908 days ,or 36% of his time, on holiday. Even after Hurricane Katrina drowned New Orleans, Bush continued with his summer vacation. Bush wouldn’t have minded Tony Hayward taking a weekend off to relax; in fact, he would’ve probably complimented on him for “doing a heckuva job.”
