To effectively process the violent death and injury Israeli forces meted out to Gaza-bound aid workers and peace activists and attain the appropriate degree of outrage over the incident, we need simply reverse the polarity.

Imagine now that it had been scores of Jews and Jewish sympathizers seeking to bring relief supplies by ship to a beleaguered Jewish colony that had been wantonly attacked in international waters.

The term “anti-Semitism” would certainly be part and parcel of our description of the event, and within the discussion that followed it.
