T-shirt wisdom

Re “Canada’s left can be very taxing” (Lorrie Goldstein, April 8, 2010, Toronto Sun): The idea of governments as caring and paternal, as a taxing Big Brother who knows best, was cleverly implied in a message emblazoned on a T-shirt I saw a young person sporting at the Eaton Centre a few years back: “Tax me before I spend again.”
