Barack needs some zen
President Obama is richly deserving of a new title: Waffler-in-Chief.
First, he scolds bankers for their fat bonuses, then insists they’re a
“savvy” lot who’ve earned every penny. First, he plans for Manhattan
criminal trials for alleged 9/11 terrorists; then second-guesses
himself on the wisdom of proceeding with them. And so on. Obama would
do well to adopt the sage advice of the Zen masters: When you walk,
walk; when you sit, sit, but above all, don’t wobble. Wobbling -- or
waffling -- projects weakness.
