The Editor:
In the profile of accused Nazi collaborator, Helmut Oberlander, ["Nowhere Man," The Record, 16Jun2007] Efraim Zuroff, the chief Nazi hunter for the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, is quoted a number of times authoritatively commenting on the Oberlander case.
In fact, it was only last year that a widely circulated story put out by the Simon Wiesenthal Centre quite falsely claimed that all Jews in Iran were being forced to wear yellow badges in a manner that was reminiscent of the Nazi era -- in order to identify them as Jews.
By failing to mention this egregious example of gross deceit sourced to the Centre, Brian Caldwell implicitly ascribes to it a moral authority that the Centre does not truly possess.
