The Editor:

It’s been reported Iran’s hard-line president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has banned all Western music from Iran's state radio and TV stations. And that meanwhile, the New York-based group Human Rights Watch issued a report saying the United States operated a secret prison in Afghanistan, where it tortured detainees. The group claims that music by both Eminem and Dr. Dre, two eminent Western artists, were used as instruments of torture.

What’s unclear is whether, in fact, these two developments are in any way related as cause and effect. Can you please advise?
