Killing free speech leads to bloodshed

RE: "Killing free speech leads to bloodshed" (Licia Corbella, Nov. 27, 2002). I recall a rally Israel's Likud Party held just before prime minister Yitzhak Rabin was murdered. Zealots in the crowd where Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a speech denouncing the Oslo peace process held aloft posters depicting the Israeli PM in the guise of SS leader Heinrich Himmler. It's arguable via free speech Netanyahu and those around him fed the climate of hatred that led to Rabin's assassination. Sometimes, free speech leads to bloodshed.
