Dear Mr. Boudria,
I am writing to express my concern at the possibility that the Special Committee of the Council will revoke the citizenship of Mr. Wasyl Odynsky at its meeting tomorrow. In all investigations of and legal proceedings instituted against Mr. Odynsky, there has been no evidence found or presented that he ever committed a war crime. Neither has any credible evidence been presented that he lied to immigration authorities when entering Canada.
In view of the lack of evidence, I believe strongly that a decision to revoke Mr. Odynsky's citizenship would constitute extremely unfair treatment, a denial of basic civil liberties, and the (possible) corruption of justice. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the committee to not revoke his citizenship.
Sincerely,
Bohdan Klid, Ph.D.
