Please note the attached copy of our response to Peter Worthington’s article in the Toronto Sun, Friday June 14, published today.

Our position stems from a recent poll of our membership consisting of 12 Ontario area branches and 6 city councils regarding process of denaturalization and deportation of Canadians who obtained citizenship half a century ago.

It has confirmed full support the position of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and underscores the strong objection by the Ukrainian Canadian community in Ontario, among others, to this government’s program of denaturalization and deportation of Canadians who obtained citizenship half a century ago.

The Ontario Provincial Council appeals to you as a valuable member of the Cabinet Special Committee of Council for the immediate suspension of the denaturalization and deportation process of Canadians who obtained citizenship half a century ago.
