Subject: David Matas's open letter to the Minister of Justice

Dear Mr. Cauchon:

After thorough analysis of David Matas's open letter to you, which was posted on the B'nai Brith website http://www.bnaibrith.ca/press5/pr-020617-32.htm I came to an unequivocal conclusion that it is nothing but a blatant attempt by him to grossly confuse, mislead and degrade you and the Ministry of Justice.

One would think, sir, that no rational and informed Canadian, let alone a Senior Legal Counsel of B'nai Brith Canada (no less!) could conclude any longer that Wasyl Odynsky was ever a Nazi or a war criminal, or that he ever committed anywhere any war crimes or crimes against humanity.

Ergo, demanding as B'nai Brith and David Matas do in their open letter to you that Wasyl Odynsky be deported from his beloved Canada for war crimes he DID NOT commit, is downright insane!

It is also totally incomprehensible to me why: David Matas, the B'nai Brith, the Canadian Jewish Congress, the World Jewish Congress, the so-called Wiesenthal Nazi-hunters, the thousands of Holocaust survivors, and even the media, get hysterical and panicky every time the Odynsky name is mentioned, and invariably remain ghastly silent when the retired Concordia University professor, Adalbert Lallier, boasts (see The Globe and Mail, page A11, and the National Post, page A3, both of Wednesday, April 4, 2001) that he was welcomed to Canada after letting in 1951 an immigration officer know that during WW2 he was an SS-officer cadet. And, incredible as it is, he is still allowed to stay in Canada even after confessing recently that he is the only accessory to the murders in 1945 of seven innocent and helpless Jews.

I am also wondering, sir, why David Matas, instead of harassing Wasyl Odynsky, doesn't draw your attention to the potential war criminals mentioned by Bryan Mark Rigg (B.A. from Yale, M.A. and Ph.D. from Cambridge) in his 528-page historical study, published in May 2002 by the University Press of Kansas, HITLER'S JEWISH SOLDIERS. According to this highly-respected historian, there were some 150,000 Jews (including decorated veterans and high-ranking officers, even generals and admirals) that were confirmed Nazis and thus possible war criminals. How many of them came to Canada? Does anyone know or cares to know? Or, is the innocent Wasyl Odynsky the biggest and most important one of them all?

P.S. Please, don't look for the Hitler's Jewish Soldiers book in Canada's largest and in most localities the only bookstore, the Chapters, for it not only doesn't carry it but wouldn't order one upon request!
