Thank God for Bill C-18! With this new legislation our parliamentarians in Ottawa will now have an opportunity to keep Canada from looking foolish, vindictive and two-faced when dealing with her own citizens.

Bill C-18 is not only a triumph for Mr. Andrew Telegdi, but also a triumph for decency, fairness and Canada's tradition of fair play. How can we in good conscience fight state-sponsored terror directed against us, unless we acknowledge and act to stop state sponsored harassment of our own citizens? This legislation, once passed will reverse the short legalization of convictions based on guilt by association introduced by Allen Rock as justice minister and later adamantly enforced by Elinor Caplan till recently immigration minister.

As a naturalized citizen and ex-serviceman, I welcome this important step to change the citizenship revocation process from a political to a judicial process. With the passage of Bill C-18 we will mean it when we say that Canada welcomes immigrants.
