The Parliamentary website at http://www.parl.gc.ca/ is becoming a very sophisticated tool to inform Canadians of what is going on in Parliament at present. In addition, it archives a great deal of information on Senate and Parliamentary Committee meetings from the past.
We are particularly interested in the home page of the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration (CIMM) at
http://www.parl.gc.ca/committee/CommitteeHome.aspx?Lang=1&PARLSES=381&JNT=0&SELID=e17_&COM=8975
By navigating via the links in the left hand column one can display the upcoming and past CIMM meetings during the present 38th Parliament. This is the External Link referred to in the previous page. (One can also access the CIMM meetings from the 37th and 36th parliamentary sessions.)
The Internal Link takes you to the Furman/Skomatchuk Files, in which are archived newspaper articles, press releases, etc. on denaturalization and deportation (d&d).
We envision the CIMM 2005 page to follow the format of the C-18 Hearings, but will precede it with an Information section highlighting significant developments in CIMM and the proposed Citizenship Act.
