*************************************************************************** Will Zuzak; CRTC.008 = 1993-07-26 letter to Melanson/CBC; 1993-10-22 *************************************************************************** Dear Subscribers: This is my third letter of complaint to the CBC concerning biased coverage of the John Demjanjuk issue: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- July 26, 1993 Joan Melanson, Host CBC Radio SUNDAY MORNING" P.O. Box 500, Station "A" Toronto, Ontario M5W 1E6 Dear Ms. Melanson: I must protest your biased coverage of the John Demjanjuk issue on your July 25, 1993 SUNDAY MORNING CBC radio program. First of all, you inappropriately interviewed David Matas, representing Bnai Brith Canada, on the issue of war crimes prosecutions in Canada without allowing equal time for differing points of view. There are many people in Canada who are concerned that the Canadian system of justice not become corrupted in the same manner as occurred in the U.S. as exemplified by the John Demjanjuk case. Surely, you must be aware that David Matas slandered 100 innocent Canadians of being war criminals before the Deschenes Commission. In a more recent report, he slandered the jury which acquitted Imre Finta of war crimes by accusing them of being biased against Jews. Secondly, you allowed Mr. Matas to suggest that, even though Mr. Demjanjuk is innocent of the crimes with which he was charged, he must nevertheless be guilty of some other crimes at some other location. Let me assure you, that no credible evidence has been presented to the courts indicating that Mr. Demjanjuk is guilty of any war crimes whatsoever. In the future, please exercise better judgement in carrying out your professional responsibilities to the Canadian public. Respectfully yours, William Zuzak, Ph. D.
