In his 1971 novel Our Gang, Phillip Roth satirized U.S. President
Richard Nixon for posturing as the self-styled defender of “the
unborn.” Michael Ignatieff posturing as the champion of women’s
reproductive rights likewise hands out an invitation to satire.
