"Murder is murder"

The Editor:

Re: "Murder is murder," Mindelle Jacobs,
Edmonton Sun, 10Aug2005.

Had Eden Natan-Zada been Palestinian, not Jewish, his family would now be homeless:
The Natan-Zada family home demolished by Israeli troops following an eviction order. But in Israel collective punishment, racist in theory and practice, is reserved for the Palestinians alone.

Murder is murder; and the racism inherent in the decades-old Israeli practice of collective punishment of non-Jews is unabashed racism:
As unabashed as the garden where mass-killer Baruch Goldstein's remains now lie, serving as a shrine for Jewish extremists. <1>

Re: Mindelle Jacobs' Aug. 10, 2005 column. You are correct, Mindy: Murder is indeed murder. Despite the fact that Israel's innocent civilians continue to be mercilessly attacked by Palestinian Arab terrorists, on an almost-daily basis, Israel remains a civilized democracy governed by the rule of law. If Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority would sincerely condemn their own terrorist attacks and dismantle their own terrorist organizations, peace in the Middle East would indeed be achievable.
