KYIV - The Ukrainian Quarterly, Vol. LXIV, Numbers 1-2 (Spring-Summer
2008), is devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Holodomor. A
list of the contents in the special Holodomor double issue is found
below. The Ukrainian Quarterly is a Journal of
Ukrainian and International Affairs that has been published
since 1944.
For over six decades, insightful articles and commentaries have
followed one of Europe's largest nations -- Ukraine, and its drive for
independence.
The Ukrainian Quarterly's roster of distinguished writers had the
unique foresight to recognize and describe the direction of political
and social affairs in Eastern Europe and the Communist world in
general, as well as in the years before the monumental changes
of 1989-1991. Now, The Ukrainian Quarterly follows Ukraine as
it moves to reassert itself in the European and international arena.
The Ukrainian Quarterly is published in the USA by the
Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA). A yearly
subscription is $50. The Special Holodomor double
issue is $25.00. To order a yearly

The lecture ("From Holod to Holodomor: Bolshevik

such produced in Ukraine (and available in Ukrainian, Russian, and

http://khpg.org/en/index.php?id=1221299499.)
Yevhen Zakharov, a recent recipient of a prestigious Ukrainian

GREAT
FAMINE OF 1932-1933 IN SOVIET UKRAINE
Ukrainian Canadian Civil Liberties Foundation (UCCLF), Ottawa, Canada,
Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008
OTTAWA - To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Holodomor, the
Ukrainian Canadian Civil Liberties Foundation is supporting the
publication of a series of essays by leading journalists,
public intellectuals and scholars titled: "Holodomor: Reflections on
the Great Famine of 1932-1933 in Soviet Ukraine" (edited by L. Y.
Luciuk, The Kashtan Press, 2008).
The goal of this campaign is to send copies of this book to major
international repositories as well as public and university libraries,
in a bid to make information about the causes and consequences of the
Holodomor available to a wide audience.
Holodomor-denial continues: Only if books exist on library shelves
worldwide can we begin to undo the disinformation that exists about the
Holodomor.
Donations are tax-deductible; income tax receipts will be
issued. If you are able to donate $250 or more, you or the
library of your choice will receive a copy of this important new book.
Please make your cheque payable to: The Ukrainian Canadian Civil
