Dear Mr. Hafemann:

Thank you sincerely for copying me on your important letter to the Hon. Denis Coderre, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, dated August 15, 2002. The faxed copy arrived while I was on annual vacation, such that today is my first day back on a "regular" schedule.

The issues you raised with Mr. Coderre are, as you accurately point out, crucial toward an understanding of the calumny that a certain lobby is perpetrating against innocent Canadian citizens, among whom, without doubt, is included your client. Both the written decision of the presiding Justice, and more so the excellent critique written by Justice Roger Salhany, illustrate the folly of the federal government's pursuit of this ill-advised process.

I would very much appreciate being kept up to date on this all-important matter. In addition, if there is any way I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Starting in September, I can be reached during office hours at (780) 422-8781.

Once again, please accept our genuine gratitude for writing this important letter correcting a gross misconception on the government's part, and then for copying our organization on it.

Yours fraternally,

Eugene Harasymiw, LL.B.
