Today's bombing of London reminds Canadians that the oppression of Arabs, the robbing of their natural resources, the murder of their people, and the destruction of their societies comes at the price of retaliatory counter-attack. Although one must decry the intentional targetting of civilians, one must also recognize that this is occasioned by the Arab lack of access to the weaponry which would permit them to follow the civilized and humane Israeli-American-British precedent of selectively assassinating political leadership and surgically vaporizing military targets, any mountain of civilian casualties which might eventuate being both sincerely unintended and profoundly regretted.
It is to your government's credit that you have largely exempted Canada from such Arab counter-attack by refusing to join the American-British conquest and destruction of Iraq and the confiscation of its resources. However, as I have pointed out in my 10-Nov-2004 letter to you titled "Three reasons why al-Qaeda might attack Canada" at www.ukar.org/martin/martin20.html, there continue to be several holes in Canada's exemption from Arab retaliation, foremost among which is your appointment of Zionist Irwin Cotler as Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. Irwin Cotler works indefatigably to place Canada in the anti-Arab camp, as by defending Israel's right to oppress and murder Palestinians, as by working to suppress criticism of Zionist leadership, and as by appointing Zionists to positions of high authority. The leading role that Irwin Cotler plays in your government serves as an advertisement that Canada does side with the Israeli-American-British let's-rob-the-Arabs camp — though less than enthusiastically — and thus Irwin Cotler constitutes Canada's outstanding provocation to Arab retaliation.
You would contribute to the ability of Canadians to evaluate the plausibility of the above view by disclosing whether Irwin Cotler is today a citizen of any country other than Canada, and more specifically by disclosing any and all dates on which Irwin Cotler has ever acquired Israeli citizenship or has ever renounced it. Canadians have a right to know the citizenship of those you appoint to rule over them. This is a question which you are obligated to answer, as it concerns the degree to which Canadians can feel safe from being blown up in their subways and on their buses. The question also interests Canadians of Palestinian and Ukrainian and Polish and German and Lithuanian extraction who have reason to fear that they might be prejudicially dealt with by a Justice Ministry run by an Israeli.
Hon. Irwin COTLER, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, 284 Wellington Street, Ottawa ON K1A 0H8
