Dear Subscribers:
This is another letter of complaint to the CBC concerning a news item
where, once again, the CBC employee could be accused of hate mongering:

Jeffrey Dvorkin, Managing Editor
CBC National Radio News
P.O. Box 500, Station "A"

Dear Sir:

This is my second letter to you since January 17, 1993 when
I complained about an item by Marc Levy broadcast January 12,
1993 on the 6:00 p.m. National Radio News. (I have not as yet
received a reply.)

My present complaint concerns an item by Dick Gordon on the
6:00 p.m. National Radio News, Wednesday, June 9, 1993. The item
concerned the visit of German Chancellor Helmut Kohl to Kiev,
Ukraine. Reporting on Mr. Kohl's trip, his discussions and even
his visit to Babyn Yar was completely appropriate. Unfortunately,
at the end of the item, Mr. Gordon had the audacity to add his
own personalized remarks on Babyn Yar defaming Ukrainians rather
than reporting on Mr. Kohl's speech or remarks on the subject.
Hate mongering by employees of the CBC is completely
inappropriate and unacceptable. Mr. Gordon owes an apology to
Canadians, in general, and the Ukrainian community, in
particular, for his unprofessional conduct.

If Mr. Gordon wishes to obtain an overall perspective of the
atrocities committed during the reign of the Bolshevik Russian
empire (and during World War II, in particular), he should visit
and report on the hundreds, if not thousands, of mass graves
containing real skeletons scattered throughout Ukraine and other
Republics of the former Soviet Union.

Respectfully yours,

William Zuzak
